BLURB:
Kerry O’Brien has a secret so terrible it burns inside her. All she wants is to be part of a normal family, but with a stepfather like Bill, that is impossible.

Set in the 1970s when secrets like this were only ever whispered about, Kerry somehow keeps her humour by pretending everything is fine. Then she meets biker Tommy, and he has his own secret; one that impacts on her.
Kerry’s secret becomes harder to keep and the tell-tell signs are harder to hide. Can she keep it together? Can Tommy and Kerry get it together?

Then the worst happens and Kerry’s secret is a secret no more.
‘As I walked over I knew he would take off his helmet and his hair would fall over his face. He would flick it back with his hand and I was excited with anticipation. I loved the way he looked.
I smiled and came towards him. He took off his helmet and it fell to his wrist like a basket handle, as his other hand flicked away his hair. Something inside pinged and that feeling I’d had for days came back with intensity.’

What readers are saying:

“The story is gripping and interesting, the romance warm and simmering. I absolutely loved the ending, which gives the story an almost fairy tale-like feeling. All in all, it was a very enjoyable two hour read, and I whole heartedly recommend it to fans of the genre.”
S Anderson

“I really enjoyed this book and I was automatically drawn into the characters world, from the very first page. Tommy treats Kerry like a queen and it’s so refreshing to read a story where the man respects and truly loves the girl.”
Jenna Hodge

“The characters were so real and the story definitely so believable. These sort of secrets unfortunately still go on. Let’s hope others can find the strength, just like Kerry to come out the other side.”
Lindy-Lou

Newest Published Work and other News.

untitled (11)My short story , Jingle Jars, ( My Story title is featured on the cover and I am ever so flattered that it is!!!)  was recently published in a collection along with many other great short stories. All awesome ‘AWE’thors in this collection are members of a great Indie writers group on Facebook. The book was published by Plaisted Publishing House, and I thank them for the great opportunity to be involved in a project that involved so many talented, proof readers, editors, writers and administration people. The group put together two anthologies of Dark and Light Holiday themed stories. My story ended up in the Dark Volume , as you can see by the photos above.

I have not yet read every story in its entirety , however I have read some and though I m not reviewing the book I will say this; It is chock full of some very good Dark Holiday shorts. The Light Volume also, is full of many great stories by authors from around  the globe.

Both books, The December Awethology: Dark Volume and the December Awethology: Light Volume  are available at most online bookstore platforms. The eBook copy is a free download and the print version is $6.00. I myself am the proud owner of every version of each book that I can find! They are just that good. Having read many of the authors books/stories before I feel completely confident in saying that this is a collection you do not want to miss out on.  I will include a couple book links below. Here’s a bit of a blurb from my story Jingle Jars:

Sneak Peek of Jingle Jars by Jennifer Deese (short story from The December Awethology: Dark Volume by The #Awethors.)

***

Sid could sense the arrival of something. Then suddenly he began to make out a shape approaching in the distance through the open door.  As he strained to decipher what it was that was approaching he caught the scent of sulphur and rot. The odor grew stronger as the shape in the swirling snow drew closer. Sid felt his heart quicken as his senses told him something about this was all wrong. As he watched, frozen in place, he saw that the quickly approaching figure was adorned in what looked to be a very tattered and dirty Santa Claus outfit. “What the hell!”, Sid thought as the figure stepped onto the porch and stood face to face with him. The stink was even more intense and the man’s eyes were obsidian black. Sid stepped back as the man came through the door shutting it behind him. As the door shut the noise from the jingling jars abruptly stopped.

Sid knew he was in the presence of something sinister, dark and evil, and in a rare moment of honest introspection he almost wished things had been different in his life, normal even. He watched, frozen in place as the Santa clad demon walked to the wall of jars. With his heart pounding Sid asked, “”Who are you.” Smiling demonically, the visitor ran his dirty clawed fingers along the jars, causing them to jingle eerily in the dead silence. Sid could feel the noise deep in his brain, it caused a blinding pain that brought him to his knees next to the dead fire. He felt  his body wanting to give in, wanting to shroud him in the promise of death, but he wanted to live! As the thought of asking for redemption ran across his mind the demon turned toward him and whispered, “Tssk Tssk, my loyal human, I’m here to show to you your jars, your jingling jars.” ***

TaKe Two & Back to the Front!!

newbeginnings

New Beginnings …and this one is a celebratory one! To All my followers I have decided that this blog needs a revamp. While I love every single  post and ramble  have posted on this blog,  I have gotten that spring cleaning bug (ok so I am quite a few months behind …its the way my head works!)Starting tomorrow this Site, To Write is Right!!!, will be UNDER CONTSTRUCTION. No pertinent information will be deleted, however older material and up and coming material will be presented in new ways. *writer of this post scratches her head and wonders if she can pull this off. She is no pro blogger by any means and wishes she had “people” to do this for her. Now she laughs hysterically at her own joke. Ok back on track now folks sooooo where were we? ********************

Ok here we go; I have decided to reconstruct my blog  and considering the fact that I am in no way adept in the art of blog maintenance this may take a bit. I have never really been able to format this blog in accordance to how I see it in my head however, I am going to give it another go. setting up pages and static pages etc. is all so very confusing.

I will be starting this project today and keeping my fingers crossed that I end up with something halfway presentable. than you kindly for your patience.

Another The Fading Light Blurb…

wpid-ngc_2818_by_the_hubble_space_telescope.jpg

“It’s a wondrous sight to behold.” Cora startled and turned to find Eldon standing behind her with a quirky smile upon his face. “The beauty of this place never ceases to impress me”‘ he said. Clearing her throat to cover the fact that he had startled her Cora smiled.

“It is one of the prettiest places I have ever seen”‘ she replied. She couldn’t help but notice the way the sun glinted in his eyes and just how attractive he really was. With that realization, the thought occurred to her again that he was from Earth. On her last visit to Osipia, when she had been given the chance to save her soul, she had met no other Earthlings or even inhabitants of Osipia: just Sol. Now here before her stood another person from her own world, another traveler. What did this mean, she wondered.

<STAY TUNED FOR MORE BLURBS AND UPDATES AS I GET CLOSER TO COMPLETING THE FADING LIGHT>

What lies ahead in Cora’s second journey to Osipia? With the light fading and the flora and fauna in danger of destruction will Osipia survive? Will Earth fall into chaos? What is Eldon’s part in all this? Will the Devallian army win? And exactly how is Cora to help in this battle? She possesses no military prowess, she has no battle experience in this kind of situation…What is her part and how does it tie into Eldon’s presence here?

Book two is sure to take you deeper into Osipia, its magic and those that call it home.

I thank all of you for your patience while I write and re-write these pages so that I can get them as prefect as I can. this story turned in a direction I did not expect but I am going with it and I am sure those of you that liked book one , The Orchid Keeper, will enjoy the longer length and the deeper story I deliver in The Fading Light.

Blessing to you all and happy reading/writing to All as well.

Sincerely, Jennifer Deese- author8bdce55a19cc1d872a8042d7ea1fd513

WITERS WEEKLY E-MAGAZINE (My personal review)

When it comes to writing news and opportunities one of the sources I rely heavily on is Writers Weekly. The resources they lead me to, the contests, the writing news and updates are rock solid and reliable. I came across this source when I began looking for writers resources and before I signed on with Abuzz Press.

This is a weekly published e-zine and I have greatly benefitted from all it has to offer each week. I have even won one of their weekly trivia contests. There is regular 24 hour writing contest that is prompted with a small five dollar entry fee…well worth it!!!

News on POD publishing, self publishing, publishing with both BookLocker, http://publishing.booklocker.com/, and Abuzz Press, http://www.abuzzpress.com/about-abuzz/.  (Abuzz is my own publisher, and I have had a great experience with them) As well as price comparisons for self publishing packages. They give great advice, offer a 90 days of promoting ebook, which in my opinion is a must have for all authors, agents seeking clients, and a plethora of wonderful tools, books, and insights for all writers…new and seasoned. Below you will find a link that will allow you see exactly why I suggest this particular e-zine for writers to you all.
